Ormskirk is a beautiful market town situated between Liverpool and Southport.
We are lucky to have on our doorstep one of the oldest market towns in the country, and our own Town Crier – how cool is that!
Edge Hill University is growing rapidly in physical growth and academic recommendation. Oh yes as you can see we LOVE ORMSKIRK…..but this is a glossy picture covering a darker side…
Shops are rapidly closing down, unemployment is rising, our beautiful town is littered with ‘For Sale’ and ‘To-Let’ signs….. this does not look pretty, this does not enhance the market town or the lovely churches this is depressing – and depressing does not bring tourists, new ventures or shoppers.
From this was born – LOVE ORMSKIRK…. a dedicated group of business men and women, charities and most importantly people like you and I – shoppers. We need to stop Ormskirk becoming a town known for derelict shops, charirty shops and unemployment, and with you and I this can be done.
YOURDESIGN.CO.UK is very fortunate to be a rapidly growing and developing online company. We are continually evolving our website, embracing new technologies, we do not rely on the high street – so why and how are we helping? Why – we Love Ormskirk, we love our town our schools our history and our children’s future. If the situation continues we could slip too far….How are we helping? We have donated printed canvas bags, engraved pens, printed t shirts and banners – if everyone who can help does this we could start a massive wave in bringing life back to our Town.

Over the last 12 years we have continually moved with the times in products, print options and machinery. Over the next few months we are doubling the product range we currently offer – all very exciting … but logistically a nightmare for us! Unlike the majority of online companies we print all the products ourselves.
We are very excited for this new system about to be introduced to the main YD warehouse – every item produced will be given a barcode, which at anytime during its journey through production can be scanned, via our custom built Pick & Pack software, enabling us to print a dispatch label for it, check what other products are to go with the orders and any other important information about the order.
The benifets of this system will be huge for YD allowing us to scale up the business knowing that the logistics of order management are streamlines and error proof, orders with multiple products will not allow the invoice to be printed until the packer has all the items to complete the order at hand, instant tracking will be emailed to the customer, and also updated into their account, these are just some of the advantages of this system.
To complement this system we are also introducing production work stations, each station will be allocated a works list, which can be filtered for the user to quickly see what work is needed to be produced, this will speed up production as well as provide statistics on the throughput of each station, we would also provide insights into potential under/overcapacity.

Due to an overwhelming demand for mugs over Valentine’s Day, we have had ship more in!
No doubt we are going to need a lot more before Mother’s Day!!! (18th March this year by the way!)
And it’s not only mugs that have been snapped up, we have seen a lot of jigsaws (some with marriage proposals on them!) keyrings and engraved items flying off our shelves.
